AIA Youngstown was accredited again for the period of 2026 to 2028 by the American Institute of Architects. The accreditation process, known as Core Member Services (CMS), was developed by the AIA to assist chapters maintain a high standard of service to members by meeting minimum core services as developed by the AIA. The current standards is CMS 4.0.
Through the last half of 2025, and mid-January of this year, AIA chapters were required to submit information related to governance and communications & outreach, advocacy, finance & operations, information and Continuing education. In order to be accredited or re-accredited, chapters were required to show that they met the minimum standards in all core areas. AIA Youngstown has successfully submitted and been approved for each of the accreditation cycles. The process was initiated by the AIA Board of Directors in 2014 and the first submission process took place in 2016.
