The AIA Ohio Advocacy Committee works closely each year with the Ohio Architects PAC in developing working relationships with legislators who are engaged in legislation or rules-making that affects the Design and Construction Industry. As part of this effort, the Ohio Architects PAC seeks maximum participation of all AIA Ohio members as well as the participation of the AIA Ohio and Ohio AIA component boards. Key to the success of AIA Youngstown\’s local advocacy committee, AIA Youngstown has achieved 100% participation of its board members in the 2023 AIA Ohio PAC effort, the first local component board to achieve this goal.
In 2022, AIA Youngstown\’s 60 members led the PAC effort by contributing 44% of the total monies contributed from the 2,237 AIA Ohio members across the state. This amount represented contributions from approximately 40% of the AIA Youngstown members. To date, AIA Youngstown members have contributed over 70% of the 2023 goal. This effort will continue as the next stage of the process pivots to firm visits.
